Hey I’ve receetly been accepted to both of these schools and I don’t know where to go. For Boston I got accepted to the January CGS Boston-London Program. I heard that CGS is kind of looked down upon by the other colleges but I honestly don’t think I’ll be too bothered by it. I also don’t know how I feel about starting college in January. But I want to get an MBA in economics and I know that Boston has a better business school. Not to say that Pittsburgh business school is bad it’s pretty good but again Boston is better for business. So should I go to Boston do CGS for two years and transfer to another college and get my degree from there or opt for a more traditional college experience at Pitt
are you going to grad school or undergrad?
I’m going to start my undergrad this fall(if I go to Pitt) and January if I go to (Boston )
“Pittsburgh business school is bad it’s pretty good but again Boston is better for business”
that is not true, rankings are just an opinion they are not gospel!
I personally would choose Pittsburgh over BU .I think Pittsburgh would be better for me and the city of Pittsburgh is amazing. but that may not be true for you. go where you think you will be happier, not based on some ranking like us news.
Okay thanks
I’d be concerned about choosing the college that will provide the undergraduate experience you want. Getting an MBA is way down the road and you can get into a MBA program from either school and with any undergraduate major. Note that for the top tier MBA programs it is expected that you get 2-5 years of meaningful work experience before even applying.
I am currently a freshman in the CGS Jan London program at BU! Just to let you know, CGS is not nearly as “looked down upon” as this website makes it seem. I have never had someone have a bad reaction to me when I told them I was in CGS. CGS is one of the biggest schools at BU so most people either are in CGS, were in CGS, or have a friend who was in CGS so don’t worry about that at all. I know the gap semester sucks but honestly it’s only 4 months out of the rest of your life and BU will set you up for opportunities for the rest of your life. I’m loving BU so far and I seriously can’t wait for London. If you have any questions let me know!
