I have the same question
(Girls state, Girls Nation)

What is "Boys State"? I'm just curious, since in my kids' school this means "sports" (state champs in swim/dive, tennis, x-country and all other non-football sports).

Boys' State is a program for which certain exceptional students are recommended and chosen -- it's a week-long summer program in which the boys run their own government on the city/county/state levels.

To the OP: it would go in your academic honors/awards if you were chosen based on that. Some boys are chosen simply because they are the only ones vying for it; others are chosen by counselors based on merit and must go through an interview, etc. If you're part of the latter group, then I'd put it under honors/awards. If not, you can discuss it in your essays regardless.
