Boys' State

I was chosen to attend Boys' State by school/Legion Post and did so this July. How should I list this in my application? And do colleges know enough about it that I won't have to add much further information?

Colleges know about Boys State, so you don't have to explain it.

Boys' State is well known enough that you don't have to explain it.

You should list it in your honors/awards. It isn't an EC since it's not something you do habitually (just a week-long activity). Some say it's a summer program, but depending on how you were selected for it (at the high school I went to, it's based on your transcript and an interview), it can be considered an academic honor as well.

Lol. It's really well known. I know my friend who attended put it under an EC, not a honor/award, but I don't think it really matters. (He was accepted to one of his reaches, and all but one of his matches).

It's really well known. While it's initially only a bit prestigious, if you are elected to significant office on the state level, then it's ultra high. Boys Nation then is better than National Merit Scholar (actually, Boys State even is arguably better). Then you can just run for President of the Nation. If you get that, then that's the perfect hook.

lol i thought it was funny when people at Boys' State took it super-seriously.
