braces in college

My sister was going to get Invisalign, but our dentist said it’s a lot of extra money for less results.

That’s what my dentist said too. He said it cant correct anmy malocclusion (overbites or underbites), and wont make them as straight as regular braces.

I agree with the people who said Invisalign. I just finished with mine after wearing them a couple years and they were definitely worth it. The price difference is not huge and trust me, if they fixed my teeth, they can fix anyone’s.

Just get the regular braces. Most kids have to have them and know what it’s like, so they won’t make fun of you for having them.

I got braces on the summer before I started high school, and I was scared witless that kids would make fun of me. But no one ever did. And now I hear quite frequently, “What a beautiful smile you have!”

I’d say the worst part–worse than anything your peers might say–is the pain. Man, those stupid rubber bands hurt. Not to mention I’ll probably be finding them in my purses/car/bedroom for the rest of my life.

Sorry for not responding. I don’t qualify for invisalign but I am going to go ahead and get the braces. I have realized that it was an entirely emotional reaction when I first heard I needed braces again, but taking time to think about it has made me realize that I am quite fortunate that my parents are giving me an opportunity to improve my teeth. Many people don’t even get to choose. In the words of Kanye West - I don’t believe in accepting a changeable condition. Thanks everyone!!!
