im applying for hotchkiss as a prep, and when i asked my mom whether or not she wanted me to go, she says, "What about your braces?" I know, not the response i was hoping for. Let me get back to my point: at hotchkiss do they have some sort of orthodontic care? or will you be allowed to visit a local orthodontist?

At Hotchkiss you will learn the meaning of ‘red herring’ and use useful stuff.

what? im talking about braces

All boarding schools have the issue of teens in braces. One thing you can do is schedule appointments for when you come home for breaks. At PA they have orthodontists to whom they will refer students in case of emergency. And I imagine that you can even get regular care from a local orthodontist, but you’d likely be paying twice.

We’re having similar issues. Our orthodontist suggested that we schedule the appointments for when our daughter is home for breaks. He was unhappy about the possibility of her having to go see another orthodontist and I understand that. But he said that if it’s an emergency it’ll be fine.
Of course she hasn’t even been accepted yet so we may not have to worry about it.

I actually had braces in college and my ortho managed around it.
