This scholarship looks incredibly hard to obtain. Some of our very own CC members have been selected for it next year --- excellent job, guys! According to this website (http://www.science.psu.edu/academic/Braddock.html), only 10 are awarded each academic year!

Their selection criteria is very tight, as I've already alluded to above. Braddock Scholarship holders likely have/are...
-an SAT score of 1480 or higher
-"exceptional" high school grades
-great letters of recommendation
-great essays (written for the Scheyer Honors College application)
-continuing involvement in scientific research
majoring in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Premedicine

The last item is what I have a question about. You have to be majoring in ONLY those majors to be eligible for selection? That seems rather tight for areas of science to research in. I would really like to get it for my atmospheric science major, but apparently that won't fly with them. Maybe I could major in physics to make it work out. :-
