Brahs: Accepted to Berk, bad grades, family issues? Rescinded?

Hi all, I got accepted to Berkeley, but my grades slipped below unweighted 3

Span 4-C

but there is extenuating circumstances I believe: my family was homeless at one point, and at another point I was living on my own living out of my car. Then my single mom was hospitalized and sent to rehab, and then relapsed and is going to go back to rehab.

Do you think they will take into account my circumstances? Anyone have experience with this?

Common Sense: If you have extenuating circumstances, they will usually listen to you.

I didn’t know that was common sense. Should I not be worried?

Be worried, but dont kill yourself. There’s a great chance they’ll understand. I hope your situation gets better and I look forward to seeing you at Berkeley next year. Keep your head up. :)

Do you think they might put me on academic probation? I would be ok with that

I think you’ll be fine…:)

May Berkeley have mercy on my soul

update-they told me to get grades up second semester, and its all good. hooray

Ur a hero man…those kind of difficulties…a.re very hard to surmount…
