hey everyone. i have been checking CC often now since im in my first year of highschool. i have a big problem. my parents are incredibly strict about my grades. i really want to go to UC Berkeley (i live in california) and its become one of my biggest dreams. ive shared this with my parents a number of times but when they look at my grades the freak. i have straight As and a B in algebra 2 and they are making me feel stupid as if i wont get in Berkeley with a B in math. ive been very depressed the past weeks and now i have finals coming up and im stressing out majorily. i just want to ask you guys if it is that hard to get into berkeley and what kinda grades should i keep up during my four years of highschool to get in. like do i absolutely need straight As to get in along with ECs. thanks so much you guys.

Whatever you do , stay in the top 10 percent of your class. 97 Percent of UC Berkley Students are in the top 10 percent. Get a Good Score on your SAT/ACT, and you are good to go.

Good Luck in your future endeavors,

Have you looked at the admitted profile on Berkeley's website?

A lot of people say that a 1450+, 700s x 3 +, and a 3.8+ will get you in. Am I right you guys? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Berkeley has about a 24% admit rate. I don't know the exact numbers or acceptance rates for GPAs and SAT scores so you should browse the admissions portion of their website.
