Thanks for chancing me. Your numbers might be middling, but your ECs would be great even for many top 20 schools as well. I think you are a great candidate, and if you are applying ED, I think your chances are very good. You might want to consider giving yourself some more room to reach though, and apply RD, since I think you have a chance at any other good schools that you may be interested in as well.

I think you will most definitely get into Brandeis for ED. Your test scores are great, they are in the range for Brandeis. The recommendations are en-pointe. You have the Ph.Ds giving you a recommendation, so that should be a very good thing. Also another reason why you have a high chance is because you seemingly know exactly what it is you would like to pursue and you come off as extremely committed. Obviously we can tell that you will pursue Pre-Med, so congratulations you are very committed and your passion has definitely been expressed through your ECs. You are also a great writer based on the awards and you are probably very eloquent since you did Model UN and you received the best delegate award. Just try and raise the GPA a bit, it is low for you, but I can understand since you seem like you are probably more concerned about the math and science scores. You have had your research published so I will assume that you definitely know what you are doing. Just make the essays spectacular and you will definitely be a shoe-in. You definitely have challenged yourself. The ACT is great, but it would be wonderful if you had a 33, I would try and raise it if you really wanted to, but your application is already really great. But your passion for medicine will definitely shine through your essays. I am very confident that you will be accepted. I don’t see why they would not want you.

You should also consider some top 20 schools like iflylikeaturtle said. You will undoubtedly thrive anywhere.

Match. 10char

@LaDiDaDaLaDiDa and @iflylikeaturtle
Even if I could get into a school like UPenn (where my other brother goes) I would not want to go there.

You seem to be a solid match just make sure show interest in the school

Yes, your ECs are wonderful. However, you seem to have tunnel vision. The majority of your ECs are health care related. I don’t know if that’ll help or hurt you. Everywhere I’ve toured has told me not to have tunnel vision because they’re looking for well-rounded people who have come from/experienced multiple different things. Sooo that’s my opinion.

You seem to be a match for Brandeis though.

Your GPA is great… little low for Unweighted though. Too late to change it now. Your ACT score is wonderful. Great job on the essay!!

GOOD LUCK! :D

I chanced you in the third post of this thread.

haha but match.

I’d say you’re a match.
However, I would not bank on having your brother attending as extremely helpful. Many students whose entire families have gone to one school have been rejected.
Good luck!

First time that I have looked at a resume and I saw it as being absolutely fantastic! To be truthful I think that you have a very good chance of getting into brandeis university, however, and I can’t stress it enough, no matter what I say or what other people say in this forum is a true indication of whether you being accepted or not, however if you are not, then that is ridiculous. One thing that I like about your application is the EC’s, they show leadership and they are focused within math and science so it is for the person to read that you are obviously passionate about these subjects. Your ACT is good and I don’t think you should feel terrible about it, you are within the top 6% who have taken that test in the country, but if you do seem unsure about it, feel free to take it again and if you choose to do so i would suggest Barron’s 36 book, once you know the basics this will assure you at least 3 points up from the previous score. Also, don’t feel any pressure to take your SAT, the ACT is valued just as much and if you are more skilled with the skills that the ACT tests you on than the SAT, then don’t sweat it. Your resume looks good and EC’s look very well done, the only thing to now suggest is to perfect your application essays. If anything within the application process, I consider that this is one of the most crucial factors. Think of this way, everything that the officers have looked up until this point is a bunch of numbers on a paper, though they know what you’ve done, they have no idea who you are. The essay is where they get to hear it, your voice, what you believe, your thoughts and how you construct them. Though people believe the academic rigor is the most important, and though it is important, the essays determine whether you receive a letter of acceptance or a letter of rejection. When doing the essays DO NOT ask other fellow students or kids to critique them, this is not reliable, they know just as much as you or less and though you may think some wish to see you succeed, they may not. If anything ask teachers, parents, and other adults to critique them and give suggestions, don’t ever change your essay though to where it’s no longer you, if you read your essay and you start hearing your mom’s voice, there’s a problem. Other than that, I wish you the best of luck on your admissions process, I don’t know much about Brandeis University other than what I just saw on College Board but I’m sure that no matter what you’ll do just fine.

Also, start trusting in yourself! A lot of people’s opinions are going to contradict after this point, in my opinion, your statistics look stellar, i would just start focusing on what’s going to bring out your personality now.

Yeah, I also think you have an extremely good chance at getting into this college.

I think you have a really good chance getting in (and so does everyone else)! Good luck!

Hi, thanks for answering my post! From your stats, if you don’t get in, then there’s something wrong haha…your EC’s are amazing and your academics are solid. I would even say you have a chance at other elite schools like Georgetown, Tufts, NYU, etc., especially if you manage to write a kickass essay.
Good luck!

(+) your EC activities are really strong, showing your commitment and dedication.
(-) your scores are OK. math 1 is a little bit low so I suggest you take another subject (biology E/M?) or retake it. ( 2 subjects will be better)

Considering all of the above, I think Brandeis is willing to accept you
Good luck :stuck_out_tongue: (hope we could all be accepted :D)

Very good chance. You have amazing extracurriculars and your scores aren’t bad either. Hopefully your GPA is an upward trend, if so even better!!

Definitely a solid, if not high, match. Your passions are clearly defined in your extracurriculars: you love things associated with medicine and writing/research. These correspond well with your premed intent. Seriously: published research, doctor recs, and intensive volunteerism at a hospital? You’re golden. If you don’t get accepted I will give up on college admissions, which I’ll probably do anyway. :D

You have a good chance but numbers are not everything! You need to stand out in your application that’s why so many students with 4.0 GPAs and 2400 SAT scores are denied because so many of them have similar applications. Try to be different. Only you know what makes you different from every other applicant applying.

You have a good chance of getting in. Definitely put some time into your essays to show your passion about the school. Also, either I’d take some sort of standardized test this fall because it can’t hurt. Whether the SAT, SAT subject tests, or retaking the ACT, you can only help yourself with an opportunity to improve
