Brandeis Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

@luckybaby I think Brandeis thinks they’re a safety school to you, so they aren’t giving you a decision lol

@luckybaby No news is better than bad news anyways

@luckybaby and did your friends get in?

Yeah, some of them got in. But I haven’t been admitted by any school yet. So nervous. I really love the academic and cultural environment in Brandeis in fact. @zenalc

Didn’t get in, but that’s all right. I’ve got that sweet deal at BU waiting for me. Best of luck to you guys.

@BelovedInfidel They’re rejecting everyone who needs fin. aid.

@zenalc Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s why I was rejected. I needed a lot of financial aid. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought Brandeis was need-blind for non-international applicants?

@BelovedInfidel I think it is need-aware to transfer students and blind to freshmen.

@zenalc Man, freshmen really get a lot of support with merit scholarships and need-blindness. Makes it difficult for transfer students in need of aid to get in unless the school can afford to offer a good aid package. I don’t feel as bad for not getting in, since it’s less a reflection of me as an academic candidate and more a reflection of Brandeis’ financial constraints.

@BelovedInfidel Absolutely. And you still have BU which is equally as reputable, so enjoy man :).

Also, if I had the chance to either enter BU or Brandeis, I would pick BU anyway. The only reason, as I mentioned earlier, for me to apply to Brandeis was their financial aid program (which is now atrocious anyways).

Does Brandeis offer any merit scholarships for transfers? Any idea how much?

@zenalc Thanks, man. I’m steadily feeling better/really good about going to BU instead of Brandeis. Support from those going through this transfer gauntlet means a lot.

I believe some of us will get our decisions today. My portal has changed, and the withdraw application section has gone.

Mine is gone too… I wonder if that’s a bad sign? Because if you get rejected that means you you’ve already been “withdrawn” in a sense… I’m probably over thinking this

It just means the decisions are ready.

rejected

Accepted! But it appears that I wont be offered on campus housing. What do most students do in this case?

Rejected, but it’s okay cause I’m going to U of R! Congratulations @amoore001!

@manicpixie Thank you. I wish you the best of luck at U of R.
