Brandeis transfer, fit/chances?

Hi everyone, I am a first year at smith, looking to transfer to a school with better sciences that is near boston. Does anyone know about the combined BA/MA biochemistry program? i.e. how difficult is it for transfers to get in, how many years does it take to complete?

I am seriously considering brandeis as a transfer, but I heard a lot of negative comments about its social life, e.g., how there is nothing to do on campus. That is actually one of reason why I wanna transfer out of smith, there is nothing really much to do… I want an environment where people are happy about the school, have school pride, and just have normal stuff to do. (at smith, all the gatherings involve getting with guys or other smithies or you can go watch an art film that no one understands)

and last, here are my stats…Sorry for this thread being so long…

o come on, someone has to know someone about brandeis!

<a href="http://www.brandeis.edu/admissions/applying/transfer.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.brandeis.edu/admissions/applying/transfer.php</a></p>

I would contact the school.

I don't know how Boston University is for sciences, but I would look at that school too.
You might like being in a city.

What kind of social things would you prefer doing? Brandeis is great for biochemistry-- not everyone raves about the social life there, though, but some students are happy with it.

I don't want to scare you into not trying to transfer to Brandeis, but having been down the transfer route myself, I think that it's really important that you transfer to somewhere that you'd be really happy at! I transferred OUT of brandeis for a variety of reasons, one of which being the social life. Let me know if you have any questions!
