Would anyone be so kind as to recommend several schools similar to Brandeis, but that is not as difficult to get admitted into.

Thanks!

“Similar to Brandeis” in what aspects? Size? Majors? Proximity to Boston? Religious orientation?

Similar in terms of size, academics, and student population.

At least in the past, I’ve noticed that some applicants to Brandeis also applied to Clark University (in Worcester, MA) as a safety.

Clark was the first one that occurred to me too. It might or might not qualify as a true safety, depending on how high a reach Brandeis is for you (for our son, Brandeis is a low reach, and Clark is a borderline match/safety). But it’s definitely easier to get into than Brandeis, and has a roughly similar academic approach and social/cultural vibe. Size-wise, it’s a bit smaller than Brandeis but in the same ballpark.

Depending on how wide a geographic net you want to cast, you might also want to consider places like Lawrence U. in Wisconsin and Alfred U. in western NY.

Some other schools sometimes considered with Brandeis: Bard, Skidmore, Connecticut College, Goucher, Sarah Lawrence, Hampshire. Also University of Rochester, though it would be about the same level of admissions difficulty.

I second Goucher, it was one of the places I looked at. Also I think they have a non-binding Early Action program…

muhlenberg?
