finding a safety?

i won't go through the whole process of writing out my stats, but here's the schools I'm going to apply to... can anyone thing of a safety for me?
- dartmouth ED
- tufts
- william and mary
- unc at chapel hill
- brandeis
- villanova

thanks!

For a safety, what I did was look into all the state universities and see which one is right for me.

Agree with looking at your state school. How about St Mary of Maryland as safety?

how big is st mary? i guess i shouldn't be too picky w/ safeties but i don't want anything too big

You need to be just as picky with your safety schools. Admissions are very competitive with the number of kids applying and many kids are ending up attending their safety schools. Find a few at which you could really see yourself attending and being happy.

If Dartmouth and W and M adn UNC out of state are at all realistic reaches for you (that is, in terms of GPA and standardardized test scores), then Villanova probably could be considered a safety and Brandeis a comfortable match. I would suggest finding at least one school whose numbers are like Villanova's or slightly lower.

St Mary's is small...1800 students. Remote. Very pretty.

Don't just pick a safety. Find one that you LOVE. It may take more time than picking a bunch of reaches. That's a good thing - you may end up there.

thanks everyone!

UNC -very selective for out of state applicants. Might want to add Holy Cross -good combination of academics and athletics.

anyone else?

try colgate?

Unless you have quite strong credentials Colgate is probably a match rather than a real safety, certainly more selective than Villanova and possibly more than Brandeis. I don't mean to sound too critical but if you are going to ask people, either other students or parents for input you can't really expect very much intelligent guidance if people don't have some idea of your grades, scores, and ECs (not to mention that ethnicity and where you are from within the U.S. may also make a difference).

If you like the Boston area, try Clark U.
