Safeties with a similar feel?

Hey guys. I'm a junior looking for some safety schools to apply to-- I feel I have a lot of matches, but no real guarantees.

I have a 94.something average, will have 7 APs, 2200+on the SAT, 700+ on Math II and USH. EC's include EIC school paper, founder of an academic team ranked top 5 in city, captain of another academic team, and president of a club. Competitive Public HS in NYC.

I plan on applying to:
Wellesley
Brown
Barnard
Bard
Smith
Brandeis
Wesleyan
George Washington
Vassar
American

None of those schools are safety schools, it seems to me. I'm looking for something that's in an active town or a city, liberal, and maybe even "hippy." DC schools are exempt from the hippy thing because they're in, well, DC. Are any of my schools safeties? And which other safety schools can you suggest with the liberal feel?

skidmore, goucher, suny purchase, and maybe dickinson.

St John's College, Evergreen State, New College of Florida

Thanks for the replies. I think I would mostly prefer to stay in the northeast, however.

Bard should be a safety for you. You could consider Hampshire.

Muhlenberg, Union in Schenectady, NY (not really a safety, but a low match)

I really think that you will get into a number of your choices-Bard, Smith, Brandeis, American, GW, and some of the others. You could add Skidmore, Hampshire, Eugene Lang, or Stony Brook if it would make you feel better.

Clark U. in Worcester, Mass. is what you are looking for.

Thanks! I'll def. look into Skidmore and Hampshire (Eugene Lang/New School is too... campus-less and in the city). My reason for stress is that my friends have gotten very strange acceptances/rejections this year, and I just want to be sure that I have choices, especially to compare fin. aid packages.

I agree with Skidmore and Hampshire, and also think Goucher could make a good even safter option if you're really worried (or are hoping for merit money), if you're willing to go as far south as Baltimore for a school not in DC.
