As a science major and future medical student, do you think Brandeis University or Occidental Collge would better prepare me for medical school and give me more opportunities for research?
You are talking about two very different locations - what is your home state? Have you run the NPC on both?
I am not focused on the location or the money. I am just curious about the schools themselves and how the quality of their education and connections compare.
Both will offer you excellent educations, and both will prepare you well for medical school. I don’t think you’d lose out on anything in those arenas depending on which one you picked, so actually I think you do want to think about things like location and money.
Brandeis is a research university, so theoretically more research is done there. However, Occidental is a top liberal arts college, and top LACs tend to provide good research experiences for their students.
Does anyone have experience at either of the schools?
