breakfast?

what can you make/eat that is healthy & can keep you energized?

I microwave a protein-rich chicken-rice-cheese burrito most mornings and have an ice-cold glass of water to wake me up. Keeps me going til lunch, which is at 1:00.

I just had a yogurt each day for the past week, I was fin until lunch. Probaby not a great idea though...

I used to eat pop tarts, but then I got so sick of them. I really never want to look at another one in my life. During the school year, I just gulp down a giant glass of milk and rush to school because I can't get up before 6:30, and my school schedule starts at 7:00. Granola bars taste really good though, especially the ones mixed with chocolate chips that you find in ShopRite :)

What's wrong with yogurt every day?

I have 6 pancakes every morning, along with a few waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and the likes. As well as large glasses of milk and orange juice.

All in all, it takes over an hour to eat. And since I also shower every morning, and I leave before 7, it means I have to wake up around 5:30 am.

I'm such a little ray of sunshine in the mornings and energy is not something I lack.

^ Energy is not something i lack

Ok, hun. How long does it take to do your hair?

If you're pressed for time, keep bagels in the house. They're yummy, they come in lots of different flavors, and you can just grab one on the way out the door.

Also, you can buy little portable packets of cream-cheese to spread on them if eating them with no cream cheese is just appalling to you.

i normally eat fruit-filled bran muffins or bagels. they keep me filled until 1 for lunch

You guys eat lunch LATE.

Our lunch is at 11:15...we get OUT of school around 1:30.

Muffin, bagels, waffles...

You get out of school so EARLY!!!! We don't have lunch until 12:25 and we get out of school at 3:00.

A lot of it is because we have Block Schedule, so our classes are about 90 minutes each.

And if you have a 7/8 period (but that's primarily sports) you get out a 2:50.

Our school has block schedule too, and our classes are about 100 minutes.

I just eat a bowl of any kind of cereal, a large glass of Tropicana Lots of Pulp Orange Juice, and a Centrum Vitamin.

Cereal is good... oatmeal is healthy if you like it...

wow, squirrel_monkey, how do you sit still for 100 minutes? my school has 84 minutes for academic classes (electives are 42 minutes) and I get so antsy. (:

but on topic, I generally skip a traditional breakfast in lieu of snacking between classes (and occasionally in class if I have a sub or a teacher who's really lax about the no food rule). Fruit- fresh or dried- is healthy and a great source of natural energy. Also, Quaker (I think) makes really good oatmeal breakfast squares... and apple breakfast bars! My younger brother likes Carnation Instant Breakfasts...

You get used to it. :) Anyway, I use some of the time (if I get really bored) to do homework or something. Sometimes, if the teacher lets us, I eat. And some teachers give breaks halfway through, so it's not too bad.

The rare occasion that I am awake before 1pm I just heat up left over pizza or go out to mcdonalds.

It must suck for all of you to have to wake up at 8:00am every day.

Chocolate carnation instant breakfast almost every morning since 1st grade. i love it, and it's super healthy (at least compared to those sugary cereals and junk-food "breakfasts"). i went through a small phase with yogurt, but now i have this puking-sensation every time i put yogurt into my mouth. i got so sick of it after 2 weeks. i have an occasional bagel (and on special occasions chocolate-chip pancakes).

carnation instant breakfast takes about 20 seconds to make and 30 seconds to down it, so def not time consuming.

i drink it at about 6:20 on school days, and i'm a tad hungry by my 11:30 lunch, but a larger portion would solve that. i get out of school at 5:10, so i'm starving by the time i get home, no matter how big my lunch is.

My hair is perfect and amazing and I don't have to do anything to it.

(In reality, I never eat breakfast, I shower at night, and I'm certainly not a morning person. On another note, I ate kix for breakfast this morning! It made me feel a lot younger than I really am... I think that's the first time I've ever had breakfast before school in over 8 years or so...)
