Breaking into West Coast I-Banking from Princeton

<p>Is it possible to work in I-banking on the west coast coming from an east coast school like Princeton? I heard they'll favor stanford & haas grads over HPW, is that true? Or will they welcome a Princeton ORFE because they typically to NY?</p>

<p>Also, in terms of starting out, is the best path to get an internship at a boutique firm for my freshman/sophomore summer and then aim for a BB internship for junior year summer?</p>

<p>As for internships, it’s difficult to get a BB banking one before junior year, but boutiques are doable. At the very least, you want to get some kind of financial experience.</p>
