<p>Why plan a transfer strategy? I hope you applied to NYU Stern and/or UMich for preferred admit. NYU is in NY and you would have access to work for the best investment banking firms. Why would you need Penn?</p>

<p>Wharton 411...clearly you and I are probably the most qualified on this forum. I got deferred and you got rejected. I'm sure our apps were the first ones to fall off the desk when the adcoms swept all 4000 applications off the desk. I'll bet that the ones that remained on the desk were accepted. That's why we are seeing people with such low scores and low everything who got in. It's the only logical thing that explains all this.</p>

<p>I am going to shed some light on this thread though. As you all know, I was rejected as well. I contacted my regional rep and she called me back and kept reiterating this:</p>
<p>"Unfortunately, as indicated in your initial letter, we are not able to offer you admission to Penn. We had another record year for applications, including literally thousands of students whose accomplishments and intelligence made our decisions incredibly difficult. The Admissions Committee deliberated over each applicant's many merits, and gave thoughtful consideration to your desire to attend Penn."</p>

<p>That's the case at my school. This year for ED two asian girls with 4.0s, one with a 2400 and the other with a 2380 with a long list of typically asian ECs both got deferred while the two football captains got in with 3.5 1960 and 3.8 2070 as recruits. In fact my school has been sending only football recruits to penn for the last 4 years I've been here. Our academic superstars have no luck with Penn at all. Just because many of you got into Wharton and are inclined to defend the strength of the student body doesn't make what Wharton411 is saying about the stupidity of the class any less true.</p>
