I have been elected as one of the teachers at Summerbridge Hong Kong, which is essentially the same thing as Breakthrough Collaborative. How prestigious is this, or how does this look in terms of the admission process?

I know it has been rated in the top 10 internships by Princeton Review, but I know that Princeton Review is prone to bias so I presumed I would ask you guys.

D taught at Summerbridge the summer before her senior year. It was a very well-run and well-funded organization. (I’ve heard some of the SB/BT outfits in other cities are not so well-run but I don’t really know.)

It was an excellent experience for her. She did not apply to any ivies, but some of the kids did that she taught with and were accepted…to Stanford, Princeton, Brown and others…although there were obviously other factors.

She respected it enough to sign up again to teach this summer. Teacher training is ending today and the students arrive at 7:15 Monday morning!

It’s a lot of work, but we and she feel it is a great experience.
