I took my last ACT in December and I'm registered to take the June ACT. That leaves me with two months to prepare.

I did very bad on the math section, especially compared to my other sections (33 English, 36 reading, 27 science), I got a 19. I want to bring my grade up to at least a 26, which might take another shot after this one, what can I do? I'm getting official study guides from ACT to practice with. Does anyone have more advice?

Congratulations on your perfect score on your Reading section! I happened to get a 30 on the math the first time I took the ACT, and I think you can definitely bring it up.
-Definitely recommend familiarizing yourself with basic algebra and geometry concepts since ACT significantly tests on your knowledge on those subjects. Take a practice test and see your strengths and weaknesses.

-Also, think about time management. Practice working under the time like the actual test. I would go to the public library and borrow review ACT books. Some libraries even have review books on specific category like ACT Math so hopefully you can get more practice.
Good luck!!

It’s completely possible to raise your math score. Time is the essential component to doing well on the ACT in general, but particularly the math section. Practice doing the sections within the 1 hour time limit and grade yourself based on what you’ve completed in that time. Then go over every question you get wrong and make sure you fully understand why you got it wrong and how to do a similar question in the future.

I am 7th grader taking the ACT test soon. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips for me? This is my first time and I’m trying to get into the duke tip program. Thanks :)
