Bringing up senior grades for admission

My GPA for Junior year was 2.9, but my senior year I am bringing up my GPA drastically. I want to know since I already submitted my application when my school sends my transcript will it show the junior GPA or my first semester senior grades. (I applied for Early Admission)

The answer depends on “when” the colleges makes its early decision decisions. In many cases the decisions are in early to mid-December, so for these colleges final first semester grades are typically not available in time to influence the ED decision. That said, mid-term grades may be available in time. The college may ask your high school for these. You can check with your college counselor if this is the case. In any case, come October/November, if you will be on track for stellar first semester grades work with your counselor to send an interim grade report to the college.

Whatever you do, stay focused on getting the very best grades you can senior year. The ED college may “defer” your ED application. Very strong senior year grades can possibly turn that deferment to acceptance during regular decision, and sometimes lead to getting accepted off a waiting list after the regular decision round.

You should talk with your counselor directly about your concern to be sure your most recent grades are sent.
