Is Early Decision Based only on Freshman-Junior Years?

I want to do an early decision for the college I really want to go to. My GPA was good Freshman-Junior Year, and last year I have a 4.0 (but freshman year it was more like a 3.8 so cumulative is like a 3.95). However, my GPA right now, in my senior year is great, at a 4.4, and my grades are only rising. I really want to be able to include that on my app, and it will boost my weighted cumulative over 4.0, so is early decision going to reveal any of that?

ED is not only based on freshman-junior year. Most schools require to see your first marking period/semester grades before making their decision.

Good to hear

ED notices come out in mid-December, and, at my school, 1st semester grades come out January, so they cannot be factored into the decision. They do ask for mid-year grades if you have been accepted or deferred, but they can really only see what classes you are in senior year, not your grades. I’m not sure about your school though because you mentioned you already know your senior year gpa even though it’s only been a few weeks?

I’ve been in school over six weeks now and know without a doubt I will do well in all of them

Some ED schools (like Duke) will ask to see your first quarter grades. Others will make the decision without any senior grades, though if you are accepted, you are expected to maintain your grades for the rest of the year.

If your first quarter grades are good, you can proactively send them to your ED school.
