british pop rock

who likes brit pop rock ex. snow patrol, travis?

I DO. Have you heard the Corals or the Veils? Both excellent IMO. I love the song "the weight," by Travis, by the way. Who else do you like? I know the Libertines are supposed to be the best Brit Band, but I really can't get into them.

I LOVE SNOW PATROL! I'm a die-hard anglophile...

I don't really like the Sugababes, but I was surprised to know that nearly no one here knows who they are. Aren't the Sugababes the top girl band in the country or something?

Definately Snow Patrol. Is Keane any good? Their single is being played like crazy, but I haven't heard the rest.

The only Travis song I've heard is the one on the Garden State Soundtrack, but I like it.

I LOVE SNOW PATROL! I LOVE KEANE! I LOVE DIDO! OASIS! COLDPLAY! STEROPHONICS! Wow... I love it all.

I like Travis a lot.

Big Stereolab fan here

Tenacious J, whats IMO?
im stupid by the way!

Sorry, in my opinion. Even if many bands today aren't from Britain, they are basically modeled after the original British rock bands. Seeing Keane tommorow.. yay.

isint the main singer of snow patrol irish?

Hm... totally forgot about that. The whole band is from Northern Ireland.

Robbie Williams > j00
Flogging Molly > j00 /\/\0/\/\
Scissor Sisters (not brit, but does a lot of brit glam-rock stuff) > su perro!

I know the sugababes, but then I live in Europe and there's obviously a lot more exposure for brit/european bands in general. They are definitely the biggest pop girl group in britain right now. LOVE travis, and I like most of the bands mentioned here (poison.ivy - great taste you got there). Loadsa ppl say that keane are shyte but I think they're alright and if their record is one of the top-selling in britain and many other places then they must be doing something right.
To the snow patrol fan - Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom... so they are brit/UKers

So the term "British" encompasses Great Britain AND Ireland?

That's kinda complicated coz Britain = England, Wales and Scotland
UK = England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
but since the term united kingdomian or UKer does not exist then northern Irish are usually considered brits.

Lead singer of Flogging Molly is either from Dublin or Belfast, I'm too lazy to check. There's a world (and a major conflict) of difference between Ireland and N. Ireland, but still, that doesn't detract from the fact that Flogging Molly still rocks your socks. So, possibly not British rock, but still European rock that's relatively unknown to Americans sans people who shop at Hot Topic.

If you like Brit rock, check out Pitty Sing and I Am Kloot.

Also Tenacious J, I too love The Veils especially their song "Lavinia"...in one word, heavenly.
