Broadcast/Journalism Graduate School Help

I am looking to go to graduate school in order to get a master's degree in broadcast journalism. I have looked into Syracuse and Columbia, along with a few others (ie UC Berkeley), but I am not sure how good my chances are of getting into such schools.

I am entering my senior year at UC Riverside, majoring in Communications. My upper-division GPA is 3.9, overall I have a 3.5. I've done quite a number of internships- 5 to be exact. I've studied abroad in Italy and can speak Italian as well as Farsi. I am also in a sorority and have helped raise over $25,000 for victims domestic violence. I have yet to take the GRE, but will be doing so soon. And I am positive I can get great recommendation letters from my professors because I constantly go to their office hours for help on papers, midterms, finals, etc.

Do I have any chance of getting into such schools? And does anyone have other suggestions on schools I should be looking into?

I am personally very interested in going to the East Coast for graduate school.

Thanks!

So far, I got into UC Berkeley’s J-school. Graduated NYU film/tv with a 3.88, 3.93 in my major. When you factor in the grades that transferred from my first UG, UCSD, my overall becomes a 3.64. They didn’t require GREs, but I have significant experience in the field, and 2 thesis films (one narrative, one documentary)…

I think you sound like a solid applicant, but the biggest thing is your writing, recs, experience.

I assume by now you’re just waiting to hear back?
