Broken Bones : (

so has anyone else broken any bones lately? in january i broke my foot so that pretty much ruined the end of my swim season, then yesterday during our 3rd softball scrimmage i ripped open my finger and it shattered into 5 pieces so my softball season is ruined : ( ...also it really hurts. at the hospital they gave me 10 or so shots of novacaine to numb it before they fixed it up and what not so it felt ok, but now i'm taking vicodin every 4 hrs and it still hurts a lot, and i dont like taking pain medication bc it makes me feel weird and im paranoid about getting addicted... but anyway, sorry.. i just felt like complaining lol.

aww hope you feel better :) ..... btw you shouldnt then type.....never broke my bones but last summer i had my appendix removed...i had three holes in my stomack....it really hurted

A few years ago I broke both of my feet within 2 months of each (one in Feb, the other in May). Not nice. I had basketball going on. I had exams the day after I broke my foot in May(external ones, too) so I was taking it under a slight daze of pain.
Last year, October, I had my appendix removed as well. Not nice.

But I got to stay home and go loco on College Confidential, so that was sweet.

Hope the foot and finger heals properly. My right foot still gets all these aches when it's pressed against the floor when I sit cross-legged or it's uber-cold.

yeah.. thanks lol i'm typing (slowly) with my good hand and one finger on my bad hand.
my foot actually didnt hurt that much except when i had to start walking on it again. i broke it at around 10pm and didnt tell my mom to take me to the hospital till 11am and they gave me pain meds but i didnt take them.

I have never broken a bone in my life. I have had ingrown toenails and sprained wrists before though...

I have never broken or sprained anything yet.

Get well.

I bruised my feet bones too, during soccer, in freshman year, when my genius brother let go and dropped the TV he was supposed to be helping me move on my barefeet. And I cut my hand today with a knife :(

It happens to the best of us, hope you feel better, it sucks you're already out of the sport season however . . the pain meds really help though, even if it might knock you out .. but maybe thats better than trying to type

I have never done any kind of exertion to break or sprain anything. The only thing I have had is my lungs stick together so that they had to be separated, causing scarring in the bronchial tubes.

^ Were you born with your lungs sticking together? Sounds like a natural thing.

No, they stuck together at birth and then for a considerable amount of time afterwards, from which the surgeons had to physically separate them. The pneumonia that I had just had at the time did not help matters.

^ Did you ever have a hard time breathing?

I’ve never sprained anything or broken any bones either, but then again, I’m not an adventurous person.

Never broke anything outside of my little toe (twice, second time OUCH!)

I've had a cyst removed though. not nice!

I fractured a growth plate in my wrist a couple years ago (not good). Had a couple stress fractures (one in my tibia that I ignored <--Big mistake, and another last year in my pelvis...haha). That's pretty much it though. I used to compete a lot in taekwondo, so I guess that's not too many injuries for 11 years of competing. It's all part of the sport ;)

Edit: Forgot about my broken fingers. Both my pinkies are crooked now because I was stubborn and didn't get them splinted. I found out later to fix them they have to rebreak both of the pinky fingers and set them correctly, so for right now I'm just living with crooked fingers:(

i have crooked fingers too. all ten. i have never injured them, its just a weird genetic thing. my mom has it as well.

QuizQuick, I still do. Any pulmonary exams I take show that if I had normal lungs, I would need to remove one of them to equal my current oxygen-carrying capacity.

I broke my pinkie in a basketball game. It wasn't splinted properly. Now it's crooked.

Get well.

I had a overuse from softball my freshman year. I broke my hip. then Ihad back problems (they thought it was broken... but apparently not) while recover from said injury.... then about a year after I recovered I tore a ligament in my ankle then I tiny tear in my mcl and a very very swollen and bruised knee from a line drive.
my suggestion... love you pt sessions (if you have any...) and take good care of yourself. I kow youll want to jump into the season again... but it is better to make sure you are in top condition before going back or you risk injury again. I know it sounds obvious but I jumped into playing travel before letting my pt sessions finish which caused my back problems. but good luck
