Thunderbird looks like nice email application tool but what features make it better than Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express

Thunderbird --> Mozilla
Outlook Ex. --> Microsoft

Seriously guys. o_O

too much hype around firefox. check out slyerfox.com.

btw, firefox takes a lot longer to load. IE 7 will crush any competition, enough said. Firefox was good for its time.

Thunderbird IS NOT better than Outlook.

The problem is that most people are computer illiterate, which shows 90% in this thread. If you go to warez/crap sites, you are getting spyware and popups, just with IE you notice it. With firefox, you won't notice it but you are still getting it.

sagar_indurkhya speaks sense. Firefox has had more security problems with IE. Check out bug tracker

AustinJ, that's real funny...

Wait till Vista. Microsoft isn't stupid. In fact, they are one of the smartest companies in the world. They've been engineering vista so it works together with IE to make security 10x better.

IE is better than Firefox???

I don't know about the others, but when I was using IE, my computer was full of spyware, trojans, adware, viruses... The only thing I find bad at FF is that it takes a lot of memory (40MB!), while IE takes only 1MB.

You likely did not turn on security settings, did not have firewall, did not run antivirus of some sort, etc. Also, do you have service pack 2 for windows?

i must say tabbed browsing lured me to firefox! but microsoft will surely have tht in its next IE release... then perhaps i'll switch back.

IE's Pros for me:
A: Simple, Quick, Easy to use.
B: All types of sites are viewable.-Firefox is a little iffy on some sites.
C: Decent Security-Considering the fact that I have Zone Alarm and Mcafee Suite running.
D. Favorites are easy to manage. Copy and past the favorite folders on the hard drive compared to trying futilely exporting the xml favorites files on other browsers.

I think it's funny that I can verify the legality of my copy of Windows via Firefox, but I can't run any windows updates via Firefox....I hate how Windows always tries to create these monopolies...
