first order of business - phoenix last night!!! holy crap, so amazing!!! ahhhhh
second order of business - mynameisrose’s song of the day: adventures in solitude - the new pornographers

:( I’m getting nervous too… especially after receiving news about increased % of ED applicants…

I spend an unhealthy portion of each day dreaming about Brown. I’m going to be in a sad state by the time the fourteenth rolls around.

the early app increase article made me so depressed. i honestly wish i hadnt seen it. ugh. i want to go so badly it hurts.

When is the date that decisions are supposed to be announced? All I could find on the Brown website was that they came out in the middle of December. But I was wondering if there was an official date that I am just missing…

Brio 91: someone called the admission office and offical release time is Dec.14th 5:00 p.m., estern time

good luck!

Tell me more about Phoenix!

Adventures in Solitude is awesomeeeeeeee :D

tetrisfan’s song of the day: Boston - Augustana

I thought Bowdoin was pretty cool! I had some amazing gelato when I was in Brunswick :p

I don’t know whether or not you guys have seen this yet but [Countdown to Brown University Early Decision Results](http://latinlookup.com/)

it’s difficult to not just sit and stare at for the next week straight

It was unbelievable tetris!! the venue sucked (and the crowd sucked for the most part, no dancing! who stands still at concerts??), but it didn’t matter because they’re really really really good live. out of all the bands i’ve seen live, they’re probably one of the best i’ve seen in terms of their live sound sounding exactly like, if not better than, their album. and my favourite thing is when the artists are more excited to be there than the actual audience. they were so appreciative the whole time, so cute!
and they did this really nice, slow version of everything is everything. im sure it’s on youtube- definitely worth checking out.

anyways, end of my phoenix rant. we had to wait outside in the freezing cold for like an hour to get in, and my toes were numb, but it was totes worth it :)

So…did anyone else read about how Brown applicants for early decision rose 21?..I did the math…based off of the fact that there were around 2800 applicants…the school is expecting to accept 1500 total (early+regular) and about 30% of the total acceptances would be coming from ED…the ED acceptance rate will be around 16%
So…that is just wonderful…I have pretty much given up all hope at this point haha

Sounds like a fantastic concert. Pity that NO ONE comes to India. Yes, seriously. NO ONE.

tetrisfan: “Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova”

love it! really will help me relax for the next 7 days…

Thank you! It’s a great song :)

Ha, looks like we are getting tons of Once fans here~

I haven’t seen the movie. Is it worth a watch?

To all Muse fans: do you guys think that United States of Eurasia was at least partially influenced by Queen’s work.

I certainly do.

This has just stolen my breath away. It is so freaking amazing that I have to make it my second musical piece of the day:

Exogenesis Symphony (it’s a three-part piece, but I’m referring to the entire symphony as a whole) - Muse

Don’t know if we should be freaking out too much because of this ED application increase…

First of all, 16% is still not TERRIBLE. Including deferred-accepted kids, it means about 1/5 of us will get in. Far from impossible. To provide contrast, I know Yale’s EA rate is something like 7.5%…

Also, just because the number of kids applying early has gone up significantly, it does not necessarily follow the amount of QUALIFIED applicants has gone up accordingly. (That sounds a little condescending to say…but I think you guys should get what I mean. Qualified applicants being people who actually know-anything/care-about Brown and are intellectually passionate.) It just means more people have heard about the school. After all, it got hella publicity from the Emma Watson thing and subsequent spinoffs.

Regardless, we’ll be getting decisions any day now. Fingers crossed.

I’ve forced myself to stop obsessing over the spike in the number of applicants. Let’s hope that the calm lasts till Monday the next :p.
