Just went and complained to a few guidance counselors about the recent turn of events, so I think I’m good for the next 7ish days.

SEVEN DAYSSSSSSSS…
(Sorry, I had to.)

@Tetris: I wholeheartedly approve of Falling Slowly as well as Muse. They just further confirmed that we are meant to be best friends.

Let’s not mention the spike in applications for the next seven days, yes? I don’t think I’ll be able to function unless we move on from this and instead discuss, well, sunshine and rainbows. =]

yea, I think we should forget about admission rates and such… I mean, stressing over that is not gonna help us anyway,
Let’s think happy thoughts lol :)

I wonder if applying ED is becoming the standard procedure in this college process, especially when FA issues now seem to be circumvented. That was one main reason why some kids didn’t apply early, but that’s not quite the same anymore. I think now you can back out of the ED commitment if the FA isn’t enough. This change affects many aspects of this process: timing of getting application and recs in/ scheduling visits/ and making final decisions, college application fees, CB timing and fees, etc.

does anyone else think this is hysterical? my interviewer told me during midterms and ifnals at brown when everyone is stressing in the library students walk around naked giving out donuts… i think that is the funniest thing i have ever heard
and she also told me they have a lipsynching contest and whoever wins get to pick which dorms they want hahha

I’ve heard that, haha! My friends and I now joke about naked donut runs all the time. I didn’t know about the lipsynching contest, but that’s funny. <3 Brown. What I really appreciate is the organ concerts. When I toured the campus, my guide told us that the organist dresses like the phantom of the opera, which makes my inner fangirl squee. :D

why haven’t we gotten an email about the date for Brown decisions yet? I understand that we’re 99.9% sure they’re coming out on the 14th, but the fact that they haven’t told us definitely seems a little strange…

wow. i missed a lot in the past 20 hours…i really dont know what to do with myself anymore. i keep stuffing my face to subside the butterflies. i bet by the time admissions come out i wont be able to fit through the door…

random fact of the day!!!
Infants spend more time dreaming than adults do.

i have always wondered what they dream about. are they like blind people who base their dreams off of their other senses that they experience in the womb? and if they dont know actual images how does the brain know to convert these senses into picture? psychology is really interesting…

I’m soooo nervous >.< I can’t wait until next monday!!!

I’m not sure how much the “emma watson effect” has actually influenced the ED applicant numbers. it seems like because the economy’s bad, people don’t want to pay for all the other applications if they can find out that they got into one college before applying to more. =( that means a lot of qualified applicants and looking through a lot of ED stats and chance threads, it seems that ED applicants are just as qualified or even more qualified than last year’s accepted people.

but then again, if certain people truly did apply to brown from the emma watson effect, they wouldn’t post on CC (cuz we actually love the university and not her). so maybe i’m just worrying too much hahaha

If people are struggling financially, they’d want to apply RD to evaluate financial aid offers.
