goBulldogs, you’re kind of a butthead. Just sayin’.

what I want to know is why ED applicants to Brown increased so much, while ED/EA applicants to other Ivies/top schools increased little or even decreased…

I’m not much of a Black Lips fan :p

Because everyone realized how awesome Brown is, all of a sudden?

Song of the day: Come What May - Moulin Rouge

(one of the few “musical” songs that I seem to favour :p)

Duke ED is up 33%

^ that is disgusting.

Hahahahaha @adeyadi

and I thought we agreed to NOT discuss the rise in ED apps anymore?

oh i forgot…ok. random question. what is everyone planning to do for their christmas break?

going to Ohio… woo. hoo.

Moulin Rouugggee <3
I’m planning on spending mucho quality time with my already collegiate friends, and continuing my slow seduction of a boy who shall be dubbed “the reason I look forward to work.” :)

I doubt people are making a binding agreement to pay $100K so they can save the $400 or so on applications. I think the school is just becoming more popular.

Damn you, Brown, for being so likable.

Hey all, just found this lovely board…I also applied ED, and am rather excited to get the decision, although my stomach has been in knots starting today

On a brighter note, I noticed you’ve all been listing music…slightly obsessed with ■■■■■…anyone else?

this emma waston effect is bs. i dont even like harry potter and i didnt know she existed till i saw it on this blog

I don’t know if you mean the result of the Emma Watson effect (that the percentage of ED apps is up–pretend I didn’t say that) or the effect itself is BS, but Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon, which means it has it’s fair share of, ahem, “dedicated” fans… a few of whom are certainly insane enough to to apply to a school an HP actor attends, despite their poor grades and test scores, which suffered because they spent their high school years rereading the series and writing fanfiction instead of doing homework.

At least, that’s what I keep telling myself.

HP fans have done crazier things. Right? Right?!

Anyway, a more reasonable explanation is that her attendance brought Brown into a media spotlight, and more people became aware of it’s greatness.

Hey now, let’s not stereotype. I’m a HUGEEEE HP fan - books, not movies - but that had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to apply ED. Although, I agree that there are probably plentyyy of people who applied solely for that reason, or perhaps to catch a glimpse of Ashton.

I’m with Ivy - im a massive follower of HP, but that did not influence my decision in the least

but I’m not going to lie, it would be cool to see her…augh, now im just feeding into it :/

same! i am sooo obsessed with the books it kills me, and the movies arent horrible. i loveeee emma watson but it didnt effect anything having to do with my decisions about brown but i could see other people being swayed by her being there

I’m a HP fan - albeit not a “die hard” fan. However, Emma Watson absolutely didn’t influence my love for Brown.

6 DAYS my loves. :)
