@Opaline I haven’t received the account as well. I called Brown a few days ago about my app and they said they will send the acc info out in mid Jan. So…just chill :P

Haha, thanks shontaya. I’m trying but this whole process is really freaking me out. On top of that, one of my teachers refused to send her recommendation online (she’s old school) and so now I’m worried that the envelope with her rec is going to get lost in the piles and piles of mail that each of my colleges is no doubt receiving every day.

Can it just be April already?

I second that statement ^

April. sigh

@opaline - of all the things to worry about, your teacher’s rec should not be one. Remember, back in the olden days, all applications were done on paper You can always check application portals and all that good stuff, at least once everything’s settled down a bit. (Really, though, someone ought to have a talk with that teacher. It is 2013, by the way…)

Edit: btw, I haven’t received an account either. Doesn’t that happen in Feb? Regardless, I already had my interview - I think the promptness of interviews depends on your area’s alumni committee and/or the interviewer assigned to you.

Received only a confirmation email thus far, too! Dont worry though. They’ll email us everything we need in due time.

Also, i’d be PO’d at that teacher. I mean I dont exactly have a long fuse and anything mishap with my college admissions would have surely got me yelling. I feel so bad for you! Keep checking on that teacher!

See, I haven’t received a confirmation either.
Bah, if it doesn’t come by next Friday I’m calling the admissions office.

ha, well. I didn’t receive a confirmation, but I was contacted for an interview. So, I guess that means they at least have some vague record of me applying?

About how long after you submitted your apps did you receive notification about an alumni interview? I submitted mine I believe the last day of 2012. I read the past posts too about the supplement and it was ridiculously long and tedious, but I felt pretty good about them. It’s my test scores that are going go drag my app down… I really liked Tufts’ supplement! Had so much fun with it!

Why some people get interview earlier than others? Any priority?

I received an offer of interview about 2 weeks I submitted Common App and the supplement.

Offers of interview are made on a random basis so don’t worry or frustrated if you don’t get one
Interviews are just a way for you to get to know Brown better that is all :)

i submitted my app just in time before the deadline. i received my invitation four days after submission. dont worry. everyone told me that brown guarantees interviews. just chill and you’ll get yours soon. good luck everyone!

btw im an international applicant and my local alumni association is very efficient. my classmates who submited their apps before 2013 all had interviews already.

Shontaya: Brown does NOT guarantee interviews. They do their best to interview all applicants, but due to time and geographic constraints, not everyone will get an interview.

y’all calm down with the interviews, if you don’t get one, it won’t kill you or your application

Speaking of the interviews, is anyone in Texas going to the events in Dallas tomorrow? Or the ones later in the week. I wish you all the best of luck! And like the person above me said, let’s relax.

Exactly what I said!

Brown accepted my essay revision, which I was shocked and pleased by. Now, I know that if I’m rejected, it will at least be with my best work forward. People in this thread complaining about minor mistakes in their essays, send Brown a kindly-worded email with an attached revision! I think they’re pretty lax about it.

Brown seems like a very humane school to apply to… They’re trying their best with alum interviews and accepting revisions. It would be amazing if I could study there haha

@experientiadocet, did you email admissions@brown.edu? I emailed them with an update (Intel semis) and want to make sure they get it. Did they reply to your email? Or did you call or something?

Had my alumni interview today!
