That sounds reasonable. I just thought it would make the game more “brown” and tricky.

Well we can start your way! And if it starts to be too much then switch it up. I guess I’ll go…

Far upon the hill somewhere and hidden by the trees lives a little, mad old woman who just cannot help but sneeze. Now this complaint might seem quite ludicrous, but please don’t make a fuss. When she glances at the world, all the colors end in
“ACHOOO!!!”
Especially brown. I’m sorry, but it’s true.

Then one fine day, sometime in the middle of May, she looked outside and thought, “gone today is all the pollen that I’ve forever fought!” (question not, for upon the hill, pollen counts differ from the norm a lot) She stepped out of her door and onto a log - what’s that that just happened over there? The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog!

She followed the dog and followed the dog some more. Her newfound freedom drove her to continue pursuing the dog. Through the forest, over a bridge that looked rather unstable, a very narrow stream, between the two great oaks, and even under a willow tree. But by a small brown hut she stopped. Awaiting her was the dog, beckoning her to open the door.

There are no ants in iceland

I already started one. Feel free to express your creativity and join in:

I WANT TO ADD TO THE BROWN STORY!

I have your cure, the dogs eyes seemed to say. With a rather quiet sneeze, the lady stepped into the hut and glanced around the humble room. The dog was sitting at a table with his two small puppy children, as his wife was cooking something at the stove. The lady decided to sit down. Within a few minutes, there was a plate of crisp hashbrowns at the table, the wasps of steam escaping the magnificent potatoes and spreading through the air. The lady took a bite. Her eyes opened wide. From that moment on, she sneezed no more.

You lovely, creative kiddos.

My daughter submitted her application on Jan 2, 2013. But she hasn’t yet got any email from Brown with userid or password for application status. However she has got a confirmation rmail that her alication has been received. Anyone in brown CC have recd. userid and pw? Just wanted to know.

This thread is why I want to go to Brown.

@family - I believe we’ll get our username and password sometime around the beginning of Feb. Thus far, I think we’ve all only received the confirmation.

I submitted my Brown application on January 2nd and haven’t neither received my id for tracking the application status, nor confirmation that it was received. Have you guys received them? I am so nervous, it’s been two weeks already!!!

I turned in my applicatoin mid-December and I got a confirmation mail, but not an account to check on the status of my application. I think my confirmation mail came about a week after submission, so don’t worry too much. You should contact them after this week though.

I haven’t received the confirmation either WantIn, but I did get an interview request so I’m sure they know I’m applying.

It’s probably the same for you as well. If you don’t get an email by next week, then call the admissions office. That’s what I’m planning to do.

adding to what Opaline said,
@WantIn, if you applied using the Common Application, check again if you really submitted your supplement and Common App to Brown.

Best of luck!

submitted my application, received confirmation in mid December… no news about interview yet… Southern California… anyone heard from interviewr?

Guys please keep in mind that interviews are conducted from now to as late as mid-February. So don’t sweat it if you haven’t received one yet. There is still plenty of time left.

Also, someone had called Brown regarding the application portal and they said that they would send them out in mid-January. So expect it anytime from today to the end of the week.

Interviews are offered randomly, so don’t fret if you don’t receive an offer.
Plus, interviews are basically confirmations, they won’t make a major difference if you had one or not.
Best of luck!

I have my interview this Sunday via Skype!

:D Good luck to all!

Just received an email today for an alumni interview! How much does the interview count towards admission decision? Are interviews straightforward and standard? No sorts of trick questions or questions to “test” something about you or your knowledge I’m assuming right?

@cookie and anyone else wondering how much the interview counts - check the common data set for your schools! It lays out the relative importance of each part of the application. In Brown’s case, the interview is “considered,” while things like your high school record and recommendations are “very important.” In short: the interview doesn’t count that much, but they’re not going to disregard it.

As for the experience, that’ll really depend on the interviewer, although I’m willing to bet that most Brown alumni are pretty laid-back.
