At this point, I don’t really know if I’d rather get rejected or deferred. I don’t know if I can drag this out for another 3 months, only to be rejected! Not to mention there would be so many more people applying regular–I doubt I’d get in regular if I don’t get in early. Nevertheless… getting deferred means getting a second shot at my dream school.

On a more positive note, good luck to everybody! I’m sure that we’ll all end up having amazing experiences no matter where we go. In a year’s time, I’m certain we’ll all be glad we ended up wherever we each are heading off to. You guys all sound like absolutely amazing people!

I am so emotionally invested it’s ridiculous… I am on the same boat as y’all. I have nearly a perfect GPA but my SAT is low compared to Brown students. Really hope we can all be classmates! I hate that rejection even exists!

Good luck everyone!! In a perfect world, we would all get accepted to our dream, but unfortunately, there’s too many qualified people and just not enough spots I know that you guys will get accepted into great schools and be happy & make the most out of every situation, at Brown or not!!

I’m concerned about my school list since I don’t have many match schools and the only match schools I have are those that I don’t really want to go to(e.g. USC NYU etc.).
How’s your school lists? How many schools are you guys applying to?

@SouthotheClouds You could check out wesleyan tufts and maybe amherst cause they’re pretty similar to Brown. I’m applying to 7 other schools if i don’t get in to Brown :(

Today I got an email from a Brown administrator saying my counselor hadn’t submited their part of the ED agreement. They did it today but obviously it’s super late. Is that bad? A sign that I’m getting in? Sorry I’m reading into everything! Any help would be appreciated!

waiting4schoolz-I don’t think its bad. Its either good or neutral. Either they want you to get the ED agreement in because they want to accept you, or because they are finishing their administrative housekeeping. Stay positive.

@SouthotheClouds Same here. I most of my “match” schools are nearly as difficult as Brown. Some schools that I’m applying to are even ostensibly harder to get into. That makes the decision on Thursday all the more important :/

@Tman1005 the only schools that are relatively safe on my list are USC and NYU… I’m pretty darn stressed out about the possibility of being rejected by all the schools I’m applying to…

@ebrook9596 my GC, an UCLA alumnus, has an overwhelming preference for USC to UCLA. He argues that the connections and facility provided by USC is superior due to its superior funding.

I have all my RD applications ready to send off as soon as I hear back from Brown; if/when I get rejected or deferred, I’ll be applying to Reed, Oberlin, Carleton, Yale, Cornell, UPenn, Grinnell, and Hamsphire.
