The deadline is getting closer and closer…might as well have a thread for support

Greetings. I’ve yet to submit my application, though I finished the supplements over the summer. Not sure what I’m waiting for at this point; I imagine I’ll send it in over the next couple of weeks.

Let’s all be moral support for each other during this nerve-wracking process.

Is there any one applying to PLME ED ?

Does anyone know that date ED decisions will be released this year?

ED decisions are generally released around December 15th. They won’t confirm the date until late November at the earliest.

Woo! Glad to know I’m not alone in feeling the ED stress
How’s everyone’s school year so far? Hopefully really well despite the huge heap of senior year stuff to do!

I’m also applying to Brown ED. Still working on Common App and supplemental essays, though. :(

The same!! I’m struggling for essays as well. Brown has so many supplements.

i loved Brown when i visited but im not sure if i should even apply. I have a 3.775 UW gpa and i have 3 bs for the first quarter already. i just feel like im waiting my time and that i’ll be rejected for sure ugh

@marilo12, I would say to apply (as long as you keep in mind that Brown is not a certainty for pretty much anyone). As long as you promote yourself well, Brown will give you a fair shot. I have noticed that Brown doesn’t rely on grades as much as other schools; Brown looks for more intangible qualities in a person.

Marilo: you’ll be applying ED with less than a 3.775 gpa, in a time when colleges are looking for super achievement in your tougher classes. If you truly want to submit an anyway viable app to Brown, you should NOT apply ED, focus your energies on raising those Bs and hopefully apply during RD with a 3.8 or above. Applying with a 3.6 or 3.7 for ED just isn’t going to cut it unless you have some other extraordinary hook

Hey all! Figured I’d join because why not hahhahah wooo ED (cringes a little bit)

Anyone else not submitted yet? I’m completely done with my Brown supplement, but I still need to revise my Common Application, and my guidance counselor still hasn’t started her part of the process. Ugh!

@DiscipulusBonus I share your frustration! Personally I don’t mind revising each day and submitting before the deadline, but that’s when it’s entirely of my own accord. Some of the stuff my counselor has yet to do is leaving me uneasy!

I have my supplements and college essay done, just doing some polishing. I’ve heard that the common app servers crash before deadlines, so should I try to submit either tomorrow or Thursday and avoid trying to submit on Friday?

I’m almost done with my supplements, just having a hard time on the engineering specific supplements. Hopefully I can finish in the next couple days and submit…

Where else is everyone looking?

Has anyone received an invitation to Brown’s Application Summary page yet?

Negative, though I had to call the admissions office yesterday for another reason, and they said the email with login details should be going out “in the next couple of days.”

The email I got after I applied said we’d be getting it in “late October,” so I guess that apparently means October 31. /sass

@ebrook9596: Caltech, MIT, and UChicago, Stanford, Columbia, and Berkeley are some of my other top choices, by preference.

@masterdebater97: What’s this about an “Application Summary Page”?
