Brown Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

I applied October 27th and this morning I received information for accessing my BrownAccount portal.

what does the " lightly recruited by a sport " mean ? a likely letter ? a support letter only?

I got my Brown portal account today. How would you add additional accomplishments?

There’s a space for you to upload files with additional info, but how would you format the document? Would you just make a Word document listing your awards won after your app submission, and upload this word file?

Hey guys,
It’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything. Should I be worried?

Hi guys,

I submitted my application on Oct.29th. I just received one email about the interview but I still haven’t received anything about the Brown account.

Just got an email from an alum who contacted me for an interview! Eek I’m so excited haha. Still haven’t got a confirmation email from Brown that they received my email though.

@veronicaburon1 same, it’s been more than a week for me :frowning: I’m not sure if this is normal or not…

I still haven’t gotten a confirmation and I submitted last Friday :frowning: When are alumni supposed to contact us?

Does anyone’s status for the self-service website say SAT Reasoning Test Missing? I submitted my ACT score and two subject tests.

@ashmelk: As an alumni interviewer, I haven’t heard anything yet. Give it time.

@Pandu599: As long as you’ve fulfilled the requirement, you’re fine. The reasoning test is “missing” because you didn’t submit it.

I had my interview last week! I got a call and had it set up within the same week, so I wouldn’t worry. I also submitted my ED back at the beginning of October, so I assume anyone who hasn’t heard yet will.

@ashmelk I didn’t get a confirmation email for like 3+ weeks. Sadly I think they’re just swamped with apps right now.

Hi ED applicants! I’m writing an article for the Brown Daily Herald about ED applicants for the class of 2020. I’m looking to interview some students who applied ED. Please private message me if you would like to be interviewed. The interview will take no more than 10 mins. Thanks and good luck guys!

@ashmelk, I second @aryastarks sentiments. I think they’re pretty swamped and I wouldn’t worry about it. I sent in my application October 16th and I was contacted for an interview yesterday. (granted, I did spend all of that span between the two fretting I was so abysmal that they didn’t even want to grant me an interview) Now my interview is tomorrow and I’m getting nervous! It won’t be a make or break, but I would love if it went well. At the very least, it will be nice to talk about my love for the school and hear a former students account.

@ars4978 Good luck on your interview! Mine’s this weekend :-<

@rainshadow56 Thanks so much! I definitely need it because I get incredibly nervous. I’m hoping my naturally energetic and personable self will shine through after a few minutes though. Good luck to you too! I’m sure everything will go wonderfully. For the most part, the interviewers want us to be interesting and successful (makes their job better) I’m just going to keep reminding myself that and hope for the best for all of us!

I understand that Brown has specifically said(somewhere along the lines of) “During the weeks around the admissions deadline, there are many files coming into Brown, thus don’t worry if your received date on any of your application material is past the deadline”, however, I sent in my SAT II scores on October 31st and on my Brown Portal it still says that i am missing 2 subject tests. Should I not worry, wait a little bit and contact them, or contact them now? Even though they said not to worry, I still am…

Hey all, not to beat this to death but I submitted my app on the 29th and still haven’t received a single email. When should I start worrying? Is there something I should do or someone I should contact?

I submitted my application on 29th and I just received email to activate my account. Good luck to everyone.

@ffina23 you should probably call the admissions office
