I think it’s necessary because many of my friends who were admitted by Brown sent in their quarter grade. I’m not sure if they all did that, but at least most of them. If your quarter grade is nice, it’ll in no way harm your admission.
Yeah, they made it a requirement this year. That’s why I’m worried that I might not be considered as an applicant at all. I told my counselor to send them in before… I don’t know why he hasn’t yet.
Also, another thing… I’m a straight A student (aside from freshmen year), but I got one B the last quarter. I’m also taking double the amount of APs I took last year though. Would that harm my chances by a lot?
Wow, you are doing great. All schools look for students who take challenging courses instead of simple courses. AOs don’t want to see big flop but one B in a difficult course doesn’t mean a flop.
Thanks, that’s really reassuring.
Still, can’t help but worry that they may have thrown my application in the trash because of the missing required report though.
Well, who knows what the admissions process would be like in this pandemic year. As long as the decision is not finalized, it’s worth having a try. I heard that some universities didn’t finalize the results until the last minute. Or maybe because you’re Straight A, it’s even not necessary to look at your first quarter report. Good luck!
any predictions to the decision date? are we thinking the 10th?
I did get that request a few weeks ago. Pretty sure if you have submitted FASFA and CSS to them, this is standard. This question gets asked every year for every school. Doesn’t mean the admissions office made any judgement on your application at all. Good luck!
It means nothing. just that you applied and they can’t access all the documents through FASFA and CSS. Means nothing regarding acceptance or denial.
Mine showed not received until my counselor emailed them in on tuesday. It changed to “received” the same day.
Surely hope it’s the 10th!!! Can’t imagine the anxiety if later…and so want this process over with ASAP if at all possible.
Bc if not…more essay writing for RD apps!!!
They are looking for quarter grades, or a “progress report” from the counselor for the first 9 weeks of school. They know semester grades don’t come out usually until January for most high schools.
Check your spam folder. They sent it to all applicants.
They won’t not consider you if you don’t send it. Worst case is they will defer you to regular decision and wait for your semester grades.
How do you know they sent the request to all applicants?
I thought the Brown class of 2025 had it bad with an increase of 16% early decision applicants compared to the class of 2024.
Cornell had an increase of 36% early decision applicants compared to the class of 2024!!!
Cornell class of 2024 ED applicants 6615
Cornell class of 2025 ED applicants over 9,000.
That’s also my question.
I got the request in my email on November 18th.
@rainberry My son received an email from Brown admission. It was actually included in the report from our counselor in common app, but our counselor resent to admission and explained our quarter system set up for the year.
Because I called and asked. No applicant has submitted mid year report. The email was an automatic trigger from the portal if anything on the list was missing. So anything with a red X would trigger it. The admissions office said it goes to anyone who has something missing, which is apparently everyone.
Did they happen to disclose when ED decisions will be announced?
