Brown Decisions

Well, as long as you’re aware that it’s irrational…
Seriously, don’t read anything into it.

@wadawada

well if anything 7PM people have the highest chance in my opinion. All likely holders i’ve seen on this thread have decisions coming out at 7.

^If we were to go down that road, I could also say likely letter recipients are different and could be notified last because they already know the result.

Seriously, there is nothing to read into. There will be accepted students, at 5, at 6, and at 7.

Yeah I got a likely and I got 7 PM. I wouldn’t read into it, though, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was by last name or something like that.

Just another thought: imagine if all the accepted students were in the 7PM slot. The CC decisions thread would be bloodied with red post after red post for the first 5, 6, or even 10 pages.

actually I’m pretty sure CC will be down for quite some time after the ivy decisions come out.

Oh, has that happened most years in the past?

Hahah well that would make sense that it would crash… all the college-obsessed CC-ers either wondrously proclaiming their victories or angrily wondering why they weren’t accepted.

And yeah, I know I’m irrational… hahaha. I’ve kept such a realistic and logical mindset concerning admissions and everything’s gone well so far, but now that it’s time to hear from the schools I care most about I’m starting to get a little crazy!

My s got a 7 pm time (no likely letter) but we live in California, so I’m assuming the times are by region.

I’m in California too, so maybe that much is regional! Plus, since they come out 7 EST, it’s actually 4 for us so the wait wouldn’t be quite as bad as someone in an earlier time zone.

Guys, there is no way they would do the times by decision. It’s some type of arbitrary variable. Just calm down.

@ impetuous- I must be an oddball; my time is 6 PM EDT and I received a likely letter. =)

^There, admitted students have been given different times. Can we please stop debating the significance of the decision times?

Eha ma god, I got a 6 p.m. time slot. i’m definitely in. I knew Brown couldn’t resist her some nil. I’m a tell all my buddies and my bros now. Then we going get it down like a hizzay to the shizzay. I’m a tell da whole block! I got into BROWN!!!

j/king.

I received the 6 PM time slot. However, I am wondering if this is almost a suggested time in order to ensure the server does not crash. Are we actually sure that the decisions will not be up at 5 PM for everyone and that this email was sent to make sure at least enough of us do not check at 5 PM to avoid a crash? Or are we definitely sure that if you check before your time that your decision will not be posted?

Ivyhopeful15: we are sure about nothing. As I have said before, you’re perfectly allowed to check before your 6 PM time slot. However, you’ll just be slowing down the server for those students who actually have a 5 PM slot. I seriously doubt Brown will put up your decision until 6, so just check then. Will an hour really matter that much?

Let’s be real. An hour is a ton of time. I luckily received the 5PM time slot, but I know that I’d be checking at that time either way.

I live in CEST and got the 5pm EST slot, so I’ll probably check at that point but if loads of people with the later time slots are trying to log in and crash the server, I’m going to go to sleep and check the next day after school. And the world won’t end. An hour isn’t that big a deal, and neither are ~fifteen.

But it would be really nice if the later-people would just hold their horses, especially since a lot of them seem to live in time zones that are BEHIND eastern.

I think we should all just chill about this.

^^Even if the servers are slow and/or crash, it’s not like people would have to wait until the next day after school. I understand if you want to wait, but everyone will be able to view their decisions the first night; it just could take a while.
