Brown ED INTERVIEWS! :)

only 4 days left for ED interview...

Had my interview via phone today and it was excellent! Talking to my interviewer was like talking to a friend about my life and she was so awesome! :D Hope it helps, beause I feel I'm going to get a good write up!
Contact your interviewers immediately, my interviewer wanted to send my stuff by Friday.

mine went so well!
he talked alot, but we both talked for an hour and half.

It's not that. I just felt like her views on the school were dated, and she admitted that too.

i finally heard from an alumnus in my area. i guess that the local alumni director had on her records that i had already been contacted? must have been some sort of glitch or something

but she's going to interview me monday at a local Borders :D

I was in Berlin and contacted a link I have with Brown here (london), she contacted the Alumni interviewer, who contacted me saying there was a glitch and I was not scheduled for an Interview. I now have my Interview in 6 hours!!!! (He was like, Yeah need to do this asap so that I can get your write up)

I had mine on Wednesday, we went out for a pizza lunch with his daughter and her friend. Perhaps a little unconventional, but I enjoyed it quite a bit and thought it went really well. He'd met John McCain and filed several pieces of local legitimation that I was aware of. Overall, I thought the conversation was very interesting and a cut above that which I can normally take part in, making me even more excited about Brown. He said he didn't think that what he said would matter too much for admissions but he was going to try his hardest anyway.

Yeah, my interviewer said something similar about the value of the actual interview. She said that in her write-up she would do her best to present me well, but it's really up to admissions to decide whether or not to look it over thoroughly. She said sometimes they read it and it factors into their decision, and sometimes they might not even read it or put much worth into reading it. At the very least, it can't hurt. Shows interest.

fireandrain, your advices and insight were extremely helpful. I can't thank you enough!

had mine a few weeks ago. I went to his house, it lasted about an hour. We talked about why I wanted to go to Brown, what I wanted to do and why, and about his time at Brown and thereafter. He was super smart but really nice...he said he just writes a quick little thing and he can't ever really tell if the person will get in or not. He had graduated magna cum laude and then went to Harvard law...same class as Obama. I was really nervous but it wasn't that bad when I got there...we had a good chat and he answered questions for me and it was fine. I felt a little awkward though--he was barefoot in casual clothes and I was in business attire!

My interview is in 15 minutes!!! I'm kind of nervous / stressed. I hope the person is cool. It's a phone interview.

i just got AND had an interview with an alumni through phone.. it was like 11 a.m. in the morning. i almost stayed all night up yesterday so i was taking a sweet nap and then mom waked me up and i gotta do an interview. i feel almost ambushed. we talked about what makes Brown great, international experiences, my activities and dreams.. it wouldve been much more comfortable face-to-face, but he was easy-going and nice so i guess it doesn't matter. i felt like he's sorta rushing cuz of the deadline thingy?? anyway, i got a sudden surprise of interview and it was fun.

I did my interview this afternoon. It was a phone interview, which made me kind of uncomfortable. I would really have preferred to meet in person, but oh well. The interviewer was nice and sounded fairly young.

My interview was alright, went to his workplace, and just started talking and he was scribbling stuff down. The hardest thing for me was 'Why Brown' i just didn't know how to put it into words. He gave me some nifty advice of what to do if by any chance I get waitlisted(visit the campus meet someone there (preferably a dean or lecturer) and email back saying how much I loved the place and I went there just to see it!)

My interviewer actually knew me...i had met him at a debate before so that was cool

I had my interview just yesterday and I believe it went really well. It was at a Barnes and Noble and the lady who interviewed me was really nice. She was also funny, so that made the interview a lot more comfortable for me. She kept saying things well "when you are at Brown..." so I kind of got my hopes up, but I am sure they say that to everyone. She also said that she was impressed with me, so hopefully she will express that in the write up she does.
