So its a possibility at Brown ED???

AHHH i hope so.

I’m definitely doing ED, so Brown is my main focus right now.

Second would be USC then probably Tulane.

Thanks all!

BUMP!

at brown and love it… can’t wait to submit ED application this week.

any more chances? Anyone heard of any native americans at or getting admitted to Brown?

You are most likely in for all of them.
Like someone else said, have you tried for Hardvard or Yale? You would have a shot.

No i checked it out and i think i’d rather stick to those on my list! I did see a native american with like a 33 who did get rejected to yale though…

I’m hoping so. Crossing my fingers.

I’m actually considered Native American too, and am a senior this year. Just because you are considered Native American in the system, colleges won’t consider you native american, unless you show that you connected with Native Americans in some way; whether it is native clubs, pow wows, programs and/or native field trips.

I went on a native american program over the summer that had to do with a bunch of college stuff, like to talking face to face with college admission officers. The admission officers said being Native American will help you if you are connected to the culture, but ig your not connected then you midest well be cucasian.

No I am def. connected. Tons of volunteer work and other stuff. Haha its my whole family thing, its not just something I dug up and decided to practice. I mean not like white/native american either lol like a lot native.

but anyway its cool to find someone else who is applying as a Native!

BUMP!!!

Submitting ed app tomorrow or tuesday.

If I were you I’d sign up for the SATs in november (I think you can still sign up for late registration) and see how you do on those.

However, your EC’s and GPA aren’t bad at all…and being a Native American should help a ton. I’m fairly certain you should be able to get into Brown ED, but just in case you get rejected, I’d be looking at some better schools than the ones on that list.

Definitely interested. What schools do you suggest? Rhys a very good point and I have def been looking for more.

Anyone else with suggestions on this?

Thanks!

Well I don’t know much about the other schools, but for Tulane I would only say bump up the ACT a bit [here in Louisiana, that’s like the major deal here.]. For LA students a 28 is guaranteed admission, so you’ll probably want something higher in order to make yourself seem more competitive if you’re an out of state student.

Chances are that you’ll get into Brown with early decision so I probably wouldn’t even bother looking into many other schools. However, you should compile a list just in case.

Yeah I do have a solid list, but I hope I just get in now. I wonder if they will defer me to see if any more qualified native americans apply?

any opinions on this?! probably final bump.

a 29 ACT is bad lol?!seriously?come on it is still a pretty impressive score.

Natew6338- The only thing better than being black is being Native American.
Not to diminish your acheivements, but, quite frankly, your URM status will help you more than anything. Sure, a 29 is a score to be proud of- but just being yourself (ie: Native American) is a huge pull.

I know that my score is WAY low for Brown haha trust me. But hopefully good things will workout. thats all i can hope for

excited to see the result though. Thanks for anymore feedback anyone may have!

resurrecting bump!

???
