Brown Interview (yes I read the other post)

Can you guys who had the interview already tell me what questions they asked and what they expected of you?

I applied last year, but I can't imagine the process would be much different between years. They just ask you what you did in HS [clubs, classes, etc.], what your favorite experiences were, why you're interested in Brown... nothing too exciting. The best part was when the interviewer's golden retriever jumped on me and licked me for 5 minutes while the interviewer kept going like nothing was happening. That was interesting. Basically just be courteous and down-to-earth, try not to be trite... I was at a Starbucks the other day and some girl was doing a uPenn interview and every sentence she said was some cliche like "I seek a place to branch out and discover my inner voice" and I wanted to hurl, not to mention she probably didn't make a unique impression on the intwerviewer [which is probably the most important goal of an interview].

Did you get accepted Travis?

Waitlisted, unfortunately. Must have been the dog's fault =P

Is there a ranking in their wiatlist. Like first in line, second in line, ect....?

So where did you end up going...

Yeah, what they do is split the waitlist up into 3 groups, group 1 being closest to admitted and group 3 being farthest. I believe I was in group 2 because I got my decision a couple weeks after a bunch of others heard [not that it mattered in the end anyways, I still didn't get in haha]. I ended up going to Bowdoin after getting turned down from my other 2 waitlists, but I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. Where do you go to school?
