Brown - Not disclosing # of applicants or spots

I did not apply to Brown.

I did not apply to Brown.

Then why did you call an admissions officer and find out about the number of spots this year?

For the nth time, for reasons I do not wish to disclose.

SERVED.

Wow, TheMagnanimous,

I do question your maturity and ability to maintain a private discussion.

...as well as yours, theherald.

It appears none of us can trust what nspeds says. He has just told us he did not apply to Brown.
...and like I said, I do not care whether you trust me. The fact that other posters have attested to my claim despite your cavils is proof enough.

Edit: Have fun at NYU, by the way. It is not quite like Georgetown, though. This is the place to which you are attempting to transfer... right?

yawn

I know about this because I was actually rejected for Fall 2006. I had a forced decision because I had a commitment to make.
TheMagnanomous, Nspeds applied to Brown last year, not this year. His forced decision was the result of him being accepted to Georgetown.

I think the yeild question is actually something to consider. I would guess something like 60 or 70 percent.

I agree. There are bound to be a lot of cross admits for top-tier schools, especially given how grim the freshman admissions were last year. But, jeeze, posting private messages? What a complete and utter jerk.

TheMagnanomous, Neil applied to Brown last year, not this year. His forced decision was the result of him being accepted to Georgetown.

I assume by Neil you mean nspeds. He may have applied last year, but he also applied this year....he told me confidentially that he got a forced decision, and the adcom told him that the increased selectivity this year was a big reason why he was rejected. That information would have remained confidential, if nspeds hadn't attempted to decieve us.

How exactly did I attempt to deceive you, again?

The numbers I gave have been verified. It was merely my reasoning as to how obtained them that I wished to keep confidential.

Well said.

Mag,

Your maturity is wanting. Georgetown is a marvelous place, though... garsh, I wonder what the acceptance rate is this year.

nsped here you said:

I did not apply to Brown.

But Themananimous said that you said this:
That is your right.

You didn't have to publicly express it, but you also didn't have to publicly express false information....people who do that really undermine message boards such as this.

I'm sure you think Georgetown is so great, which is why you are trying to transfer out...Your low maturity level has already been established by many users on this board, in addition to the fact that you posted false info. If your intelligence was so superior to the rest of us, as you seem to profess, would you hand out confidential info to someone you don't know? Please.

Where is your proof that nspeds has given out false information?

Well, at least we all know never to disclose anything remotely private over private messaging. Ugh, that really is a disgrace. I wonder if it violates the terms of service. Eh, probably not.

The false information, that I did not apply, had nothing to do with you. The admissions numbers I posted, however, were true.

Really? Crude insults from intellectual inferiors are solid bases for judgments of maturity.

I have actually met two CCers in real life, and we are happily good friends to this day.
you posted false info.
Ohh... suddenly the board's integrity is compromised because someone decided to conceal whether or not he was applying...

Right.

people who do that really undermine message boards such as this.

First, that seems wrongheaded completely. If you ask me, his omission was trivial - of no real consequence.
Second, it is you who have undermined this board. You're disregard for keeping private messages private has rendered this important feature almost useless in my eyes.

Your* (blush)
