Has anyone spoken with an admission officer, or have any information about the waiting list for transfers? 50 seems like a high number, there has been some disagreement about whether they accepted 60 students for 60 spots, or only had 60 spots and therefore accepted more students in anticipation of the yield factor? I am trying to gauge whether the waiting list actually leaves some hope or if it is just a nice way of laying us down.

bump (10 char)

I'm not sure... I got accepted for fall 06, but the acceptance letter didn't specify how many of us were accepted.

lethe, are you going to go? any other acceptances/rejections?

has anyone found out any information about how many students were accepted for those 60 spots, and is there any other helpful information about the waiting-list?

Everything works out in the end; I got my letter notifying me I had been accepted off the waiting list today. I flew to Brown last week with hopes of speaking to an admission officer, and although the transfer coordinator was not there, I spoke with admission officer who was giving tours that day. I didn't send my spring grades either, for anyone still pursuing a waiting list. Thank you all for your advice and good luck to everyone at their new schools next fall.

WOWWWWW...Congratulations!!!!!!

Have most waitlisted people heard already?

i still havent heard. all i did though was send in that card they sent me asking if i wanted to remain on the list or not. as much as i've been in love with brown, i've now decided that even if they do accept me from the list, i wouldnt attend. good luck to everyone!

Ivyleaf, they said that most people should hear by this week. The lady I spoke with when I was at Brown told me they were not planning on taking anyone off of the waitinglist however. And my letter says that because they didn't have any spots, I will be in temporary housing until they can find a dorm room.

Congratulations, Timberland. Getting in off the waitlist is pretty remarkable! Do you have stats for how many people they accepted out of how many total applicants? Brown all of a sudden got so competitive this year.
