I cannot decide whether I want to apply to Northwestern or Brown for ED. I’m told I would have a better chance of getting into Northwestern than into Brown, but Brown’s PLME thing is really, really enticing. If I could get into medical school now, I think I would delay the onset of dementia in five years when I would be doing applications again.
I don’t want to be caught in the position where I’m rejected early from Brown, then I have lower chances of admission (regular) to Northwestern, and must end up with neither’s acceptance.
In order to help me decide, will matriculants of Brown or Northwestern for any class post a quick synopsis of their academic profiles?? Thanksss

are you also considering the HPME? if so, that's a whole other ball game.
PLME is slightly more selective but HMPE is no walk in the park either

I don't want to shorten my years of education. The workload would be disastrous. Plus, I didn't take SAT II Chemistry.

dcircle,

It's the other way around. HPME is slightly more selective than PLME, mainly because Northwestern's med school is better ranked (#20) vs (#40+).

SAT average for HPME is 1535 while PLME's average is 1455. PLME may have slightly lower admit rate but that's mainly because PLME's requirement is a lot more lenient (only 2 SAT II in any subject). HPME requires three in math2c, chemistry, and writing; the average these 3 total was 2300 last year). All HPMEs are required to finish differential and integral calculus before entering Northwestern (either taking it during high school or the summer right before Northwestern starts).
