<p>Does anyone know if this indicates that it is especially hard to gain admissions to the hard sciences at Brown or why they require this extra essay etc.

<p>No I never really understood this. DD just applied regular admissions because she had no clue of a major, but now wants to follow a science concentration. I hope she's not going to be disappointed.</p>
<p>A good idea is to cross-post this on the Brown board. The accepted students might understand it better.</p>
