I would love to do an overnight at Brown before deciding if I want to apply ED, but there is no such program currently. I know some people just ask random students if they can stay with them for a night, so I wanted to try that.
Is anyone willing to host me? I’m a Caucasian female Senior in NJ interested in psych, neuroscience, and possibly pre-med. I also play tennis, but wouldn’t do that at the Varsity level at college.
I really want to get a better feel for Brown because I visited this summer when there were few students and I couldn’t sit in on a class or anything. I’m also trying to figure out if the whole Ivy league larger research university is a good fit for me compared to the small LAC schools I am also considering (like Amherst). I’m planning a trip to do an overnight first at Brown on Nov. 10 (Thursday night) and then spending Friday night at Amherst with a student who I found randomly as well.
I appreciate any help you can give me!
Generally people only stay overnight with students that they already know. Honestly, there isn’t that much that you’ll learn from an uncomfortable night on the floor of someone’s dorm room.
You can do this to meet with a student and see classes: http://thebruinclub.com/visit/experience-brown/
ED is Nov 1st so your date is too late. Get in touch with admissions is your want to sleep over.
