Brown Supplementary Material

I am currently a deferred ED student wondering what I can do to improve my chances in the RD round. This summer, I was an assistant to a research project for an Ivy League student that formerly attended my high school. I did not author the paper, but put in 40+ hours on editing, finding sources, summarizing sources, and finding additional information from sources not cited.

Would it be acceptable to send the abstract of this if I articulate that I did not write it, but had a major part in assisting with it?

Sure, you can do that. Make sure that you clearly specify what you did for the project. Why didn’t you mention it initially?

I am sending in another teacher rec, “letter of intent,” and planning to update them on any new accomplishments/developments with ECs mid-January.

I vaguely covered it in my activities section, but “research assistant” could mean a lot of things.

Thanks a bunch!
