Hey guys, I thought I’d make a thread for all of us transfers who got waitlisted.
It seems like Brown waitlisted a lot of people this year, so I’m not hoping for much. Do people even make it off the waitlist?
Anyway, I think I’m just going to stay at my university. Where are y’all going next year?
USC for Business…I really want Brown though cuz want to get out of Cali.
I know the lady who is speaking at commencement this year, she was waitlisted when she first applied, then rejected, and then waitlisted as a transfer for sophomore year. She ended up at Brown after being waitlisted twice and now is going back to speak. Don’t ever give up hope if Brown is your dream!
Hey! Soph transfer from a UC here. Yeah, it sounds like so many people got waitlisted this year…
@Starling451 Did you get waitlisted too?
@OptimisticBrownTransfer Yep! Rejected last year though, so at least this is an improvement lol
lol guys let’s be honest getting in off the waitlist, statistically speaking, is going to be harder than getting into, say, BROWN MEDICAL SCHOOL (2.7% on a good year) assuming they even go to the waitlist which who knows?? Given the always statistically representative sample on College Confidential I wouldn’t be surprised if they waitlisted nearly as many people as they accepted (maybe more!) so that’s gonna be a lot of competition for a few (probably no :/) spots. but we all worked real hard and I’m certainly proud that a school which sees a top-notch pool of applications like Brown saw the slightest bit of promise in me, keep working hard !!
@Starling451 Did you apply for transfer admission during your freshman year too? Or are you an incoming soph?
@windowmuse I applied in senior year of high school, and now I’m a college freshman. If I don’t get in off the waitlist, I’ll stay here another year and apply for junior transfer.
Got waitlisted but considering committing to Reed. I was very surprised because my first decision was a rejection from Whitman. I’m a freshman at a community college right now, with a 4.0 and 2230 SAT superscored. Are there statistics anywhere of the transfer waitlist acceptance rate from previous years? Anyways, good luck to everyone
hey, what did everyone’s waitlist letter say? curious to see if it’s the same as mine
@brownwaitlist welp I just checked my portal and my decision has disappeared. But I’m almost certain everyone’s is the same.
@Starling451 What do you mean your decision disappeared?? Mine is still there.
@brownwaitlist Mine didn’t seem personalised at all, so maybe you still have a chance? I got how the Board was impressed but voted to put you on the waitlist, that they may still be able to admit some students, to send an email to them if you wanna stay on the waitlist, and then more consolation.
Also, when you decide to stay on the list or be removed from it, your decision will disappear once the records department has recorded your response. You probably haven’t made a decision /the records department hasn’t recorded it yet
@OptimisticBrownTransfer ^ Yeah, I think they removed my decision sooner cause I sent them an email expressing my continued interest pretty quickly.
Has anyone called yet to ask about acceptance rate, waitlist numbers and if/how many they expect to take anyone off the waitlist?
@Starling451 @brownwaitlist did they send a reply to your email?
