Hey guys! I am applying as transfer student to Brown. My SAT scores are really bad (about 1600 in total). However, I am a student in the EU and I dd not have to take SATs when applying to college. My GPA is 4.0 and I have a great list of extracurricular activities. Do you recommend me to send my SAT scores or avoid them (as allowed by Brown)?
Any prior experience?
I am trying to do the same thing
Hahaha I’m on the same boat except I’m currently studying in the states. You could try and retake them?
Just don’t send them. Optional means optional. They clearly state on the website that your scores aren’t a requirement if you’re attending an SAT-optional school. In my honest opinion, a 1600 won’t help your application.
My SAT scores are well above 1600 and I even opted not to send them. To me, anything less than 2250 shouldn’t be sent to Brown, if optional, lol.
@rebmob I’m from the UK. I have A-Level qualifications that have previously granted me with SAT waivers and college credit. I think it can vary greatly depending on the curriculum you graduate from.
@rebmob, I can only speak for places that have allowed me to substitute them for SAT scores.
@rebmob My SAT’s aren’t over 2100 though necessarily and I’m really scared to send something below average to Brown, especially when my SAT’s are a decade old.
