OKaie, so I recieved a phone call from brown university. It was from a student who attends the school, in his junior year and he was calling to see if I had any questions and tell me some more about the school. At first I thought they had the wrong number but he had all my information right and I didn’t request any information or anything. I alreday applied to the school and should be hearing from them soon. I was thinking that brown must like me some what to call me. What do you think this means?

I think you have reason to remain hopeful just like those who didn’t get a call. Good luck!

Well I received a phone call from Cornell and then I was accepted so maybe this is a good sign. I hope I receive a phone call :)

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that these phone calls don’t mean anything more than receiving a viewbook in the mail before applying. I don’t feel like searching, but I’m sure someone can back me on this.

That said, don’t lose hope!

You’re right rockermcr. I THINK it’s discussed in the Brown 2014 board.

No phone call here. Ugh. Even though it doesn’t mean anything I’m still pretty down/depressed about my chances. -_- Having less and less hope as the days pass.

Optimism is key!!!

^Nahhhhhh. I would rather be real with myself and accept that I’m going to a state school.

Some state schools are really good. And undergrad doesn’t matter as much nowadays since everyone is going to grad school.

i think it means you’re probably in youngwriter

I want to believe, but the motto: “Ambitious, but rubbish” keeps coming up from somewhere in my head, anybody else feel like that?

I wonder if anyone else has received a phone call recently from Brown. Hmm…

I think it sounds very encouraging to get a phone call. I would be quite excited.

thanks guys

I got the call too, youngwriter16.
It was a little funny because he assumed that I knew nothing about Brown and explained common knowledge (RISD-Brown cross registration, open curriculum). I’m not sure what it means, but I’m not holding my breath…

I received a call over a week ago but less than two. I am thinking it’s a good sign, but we will find out soon. I thought over and over in my head on why would they call me in March if I am rejected? That wouldn’t make any sense. I am sure that not all acceptees will receive a call, but receiving a call this late in the game gotta mean something.

Or it could be completely random.

If y’all spoke with a student, chances are that they do not know your decision, and I really don’t know why the Brown Adcom would give your information out.

Unless this is their way to increase yield . . .

Hmm. It will be interesting to see the results.

Syndicate90 i get u
jamaica I completely agree with you, that was how I felt

IDk but im ready to hear an admission decision and find out whats goin on

I received a call too. And I agree with jamaica and youngwriter. I felt the same way. Why would they have someone call me so late if I were rejected??

^ Are the people who received phone calls URMs?
