I’ve been following this post & just wanted to let you guys know I received my letter in the mail today, it was postmarked 5/7 and I live about 20 mins away from Brown so if you don’t have it today maybe tomorrow. Hope that helps

Rejection. I’m really bummed, I honestly thought I had a great chance, although there are a few factors that I knew would be a challenge. I tried to call and ask for more information in order to know what I need to work on, just awaiting a call back.

Thank you @Tenacious2 appreciate the kind words. I did speak with an admissions officer and he did express that I was an excellent candidate and encouraged me to reapply next year with one more semester in my area of concentration under my belt. When I submitted my application I only had one semester at CC finished. So hopefully this spring semester and transferring to a state school this fall will help me next time around. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone else!
@fiskey You certainly will be a favorite the next time you apply. This entire process is so nerve wrecking. I’m sorry you couldn’t make it this time but you should definitely give it another shot. All the best.

@fiskey I am in the same boat, and heartbroken. I do still truly believe that Brown is the place for me though, and I intend to try again next year. I hope to get some insight as to why I was not selected, and work toward making myself a better candidate for next year. I am not currently a student, so hopefully enrolling in a few classes locally and focusing less on professional achievements will do the trick. Hopefully we will be starting RUE together next year!
@justsemantics I’m very sorry, but I think you have exactly the right attitude. I feel like Brown is the place for me, too, but I think RUE is just a very hard egg to crack - not impossible, though. I imagine it’s difficult to differentiate one amazing candidate from another, plus there are so few spots. (Wait, what? Am I discussing college admissions or the abyssmal Bay Area dating scene?) I do think with the very recent increase in RUE funding, the doors will open to more of us.

@Tenacious2 and @fiskey Thanks guys. you are right. with the recent donation, acceptance rate will increase moving forward. The admissions offer even told me that.
I have a question though… My application said, “Based on your completed academic work and contingent upon the successful completion of your current courses, we estimate that you will begin your enrollment at Brown as a N.”
What does ‘N’ mean?
