"If you are attending a college that did not require you to submit standardized test scores when you first applied we would prefer that you send us results of either the SAT or the ACT; but results of those tests are not required."

So am I supposed to send them my ACT score if I am going to a CC?

Another question

“Transfer applicants who will have already completed, at the very least, one full-year of full-time college or university enrollment in liberal arts and science courses, are exempt from having to submit standardized testing to NYU.”

So does that mean I have to complete 45 quarters units before applying or complete three or more quarters of community college (one year)?

I’m not going to respond to the NYU question, because I wouldn’t encourage anyone to apply there–especially not as a transfer.

But whats your situation? Have you already taken the SAT and did badly, or have you just never taken it? If you’ve never taken it, and go to a CC, I’d suggest you take it now and ace it.

Btw, I don’t know if you need Fin Aid, but both NYU and Brown are need-aware for transfers.

I really am going to need FA because my EFC is 0. My act was a 24 and I don’t want that to hold me back even more than my 2.7 HS GPA. I know brown is a huge reach for my stats, but it will never hurt to try. I’m not going to experience the same personal problems had when I was younger and I am going to a CC.

I’m not giving send them my ACT scores and my going to them the reasons why I did not do so well in high school, which are very personal and can cause anyone emotional damage.
